Artist – Los Angeles
Augustine Kofie is an artist, who lives in Los Angeles.
The precision of Kofie’s “drafted” art is strongly inspired by modern architecture as well as the form and shape of deconstructed typography.
The delineation of geometric forms and division of space done with technical perfection make this body of work outstanding.
What is more important, hearing or seeing?
I’m a visual person and sight is the way I take in information, filter and share more visual stimulation.
As a creative person what is your vision for your personal work?
I enjoy creating works that an audience can find relation with, even if they were not expecting it. I enjoy the triggering the muscle memory reactions that are strangely comfortable.
What is the most beautiful thing you ever saw?
To many to list, but all things natural with little to no human interference involved.
When was the last time you gave back and what did you do?
I drop off items to the Goodwill in Los Angeles every few months or donate art for various charities.
Do you have a vision to make this place a better one?
Public murals and wall paintings have a long lasting effect on a community. They bring conversation and life to all shapes and demographics. In the beginning my murals were for me, but I soon realized I was sharing this unique contribution for the general public.
Who is your personal hero?
I don’t have a personal hero, per say, but I do have admiration for those who stay on course, are persistent as well as open minded to change.
